MAKE ME FEEL

I’ll tell you a tale about
Rich, white men
Drunk with power
Hostility, hubris, and hatred
Anger prone, criticize
As bold women testify
Grind their teeth roll their eyes
Seething straw men

They say they believe in a god
Who judges the living and the dead
If he was real we’d get along
I hear he likes floods
Gnashing teeth and torment
So cut out their tongues for the lies that they tell
No screams just guttural sounds
As they are sent to hell, well
They make me feel

Misogyny and indifference
Selfish, privileged lives
Lobbied pockets of plenty
Klansmen dressed in suits and ties
Embrace ideas despised
Like child cage prisons are fine
City black on black crime
Most assault victims lie

No glory no fame
No family names
Together resist the deceit
The powerful play
As we slip through the gate
The levees of truth bout to break
